Wednesday, May 11th

I was semi-accurate in my predictions for today. It rained only a little bit, but definitely not the thunderstorms I was expecting. Currently, conditions are fair. It is 64 degrees and only a 2 mph SE wind. It is hard to tell what type of clouds are in the sky, but I'm guessing it is similar to what it has been all day - altostratus with some cirrus. These clouds along with the SE should be producing some rain beginning within the next few hours. I predict that tomorrow will be similar to today again, but with prominent rain.

Tuesday, May 10th

I was wrong in my prediction I made yesterday. We have yet to receive any precipitation today. Currently it is 75 degrees with fair conditions. There is a 13mph ESE wind, but is gusting up to 21 mph. The sun is shining brightly, however there are some high altostratus clouds. Although the weather is beautiful right now, there is some strong precipitation headed our way. We can expect thunderstorms this evening, and tomorrow morning as well.

Monday, May 9

It is downpouring out there today! Currently, it is 54 degrees with a powerful 34-38 mph wind from the ESE. Crazy weather! The clouds are stratus, but earlier this morning my roommate told me there was a wall cloud! So jealous that she got to see that and not me! But a wall cloud means business, and business is definitely what Mother Nature is giving Eau Claire the rest of today and tomorrow. Tomorrow will be similar to today, thunderstorms and strong winds. It will be warmer tomorrow as well.

Monday, May 2nd

Currently it is a chilly 35 degrees. I can't tell what type of clouds there are because it's so dark, but earlier today they were definitely stratus clouds with zero sunshine, sadly. So far May has not been meeting my high expectations. I predict that there will be similar conditions tomorrow - chilly, but some sunshine.

Tuesday!

Currently it is 41 degrees, however with the strong NE wind it feels more like 34 degrees. It is also raining and there is complete cloud coverage. I believe they are stratus clouds. We can expect rain for a majority of this week, sadly. However, temperatures should increase by the end of this week.

Monday, April 18, 2011

Monday

Currently it is a mild 44 degrees with a 5 mph NE wind. It is mostly cloudy and I believe they are altocumulus. Because we have this NE wind along with this type of cloud, we can expect precipitation tomorrow. Also, based on today's observations, I'm definitely not looking forward to the rest of this week with the straight up shit weather coming! Really Mother Nature?! More snow and cold weather? Cool, not. However, it provides for some awesome observations! We can expect a rain/snow mixture tomorrow, and cold temperatures.

Tuesday

My forecast for today is correct so far. Conditions are very similar to yesterday. The sun is shining brightly and it is 58 degrees with a mild Southern wind. We are currently in a high pressure system and there is zero cloud coverage. There is still a chance for some showers later on tonight. Tomorrow will still be relatively warm, however we can expect showers for a majority of the day and into the night.

MONDAY: APRIL 11

I am a little disappointed at our lack of severe weather last night that I was looking forward to all Sunday! With that said, it is definitely cooler today than yesterday! It is 59 degrees with a strong NNW wind. It's mostly sunny, however there is 40-50% cloud cover. I believe the clouds are altocumulus. My forecast for tomorrow is that conditions will be similar to today but possibly some rain later on in the day.

Friday, April 8, 2011

Friday

My forecast for today is correct! It is still warm with clear skies and fair conditions. It is 58 degrees with a fair E wind. Also, last night's sunset was red meaning warmer weather is on the way! My forecast for tomorrow is similar for today, but possibly a bit warmer.

Officially Spring

It's officially Spring outside! Currently it is 61 degrees with a mild SE wind. There is minimal cloud cover, however the clouds are cirrus. There is a halo around the sun meaning there will be fair weather and possibly even warmer weather on the way. My forecast for tomorrow is the same as today's weather, warm with fair conditions.

Tuesday, April 5, 2011

TUESDAY!

My forecast today is correct. It is warmer than yesterday and there is a bit more sunshine. Currently, it is 41 degrees with a mild wind from the SW. It will also become warmer as the day goes on.It is partly cloudy and I believe the clouds are cirrus, which could mean a warm front. Precipitation is unlikely. My forecast for tomorrow would be conditions very similar to today.

Monday, April 4, 2011

MONDAY.

Currently it is 44 degrees with a very strong NNW wind, so it feels more like 36 degrees. It is mostly cloudy, and the clouds are stratus. There was a bit of light rain earlier in the day, but I do not expect any big amounts of precipitation. As for tomorrow, it should warm up a bit and we should see more sunshine.

Tuesday, March 15, 2011

Tuesday

My forecast for today is correct for the most part. We have yet to see any sort of precipitation, but the clouds seem to be changing from cirrostratus to stratus, so there still may be some precipitation on the way. As far as today goes, it is similar to yesterday and is 42 degrees F. There is a strong SSW wind, which makes it a bit chilly. It's partly cloudy with cirrostratus clouds, but as noted above I believe the clouds are becoming more stratus. As far as tomorrow goes, I think it will be very similar to today.

Monday, March 14, 2011

Monday!

It is pretty mild outside today. The temperature is currently 37 degrees. There is a strong SSW wind, making it feel more like 29 degrees. The sky is clear and the sun is shining brightly! I predict that tomorrow will be a bit warmer, but with the SSW wind we have today there may be some precipitation in store for tomorrow.

Tuesday, March 8, 2011

TUESDAY'S OBSERVATIONS

Today is slightly warmer than yesterday. Currently it is 38 degrees out with a calm NE wind. There is complete cloud cover and I believe they are stratus clouds. There should not be any precipitation for today. However, tomorrow we will have lots of snow! Hopefully this will be the last snowfall of the winter.

Monday, March 7, 2011

MONDAY: MARCH 7

Currently it is a mild 32 degrees. There is complete cloud cover, and I believe they are stratocumulus. There is a weak SW wind. We may see some snow fall later on this afternoon. Tomorrow will be relatively the same as today.

Thursday, March 3, 2011

More Snow :(

Sadly it is currently snowing in Eau Claire. It is 24 degrees out and there is a strong SE wind. There is also complete cloud cover, and I'm predicting that it will continue to snow for the rest of the day and night. I believe we have this precipitation because of a high pressure system in our area. My forecast for tomorrow is morning snow showers, but a but warmer temperatures later on during the day.

Monday, February 28, 2011

MONDAY: FEBRUARY 28

Today is bright and sunny! It is 21 degrees F and there is a 7 mph WSW wind which makes it feel a bit chilly out. The sky is clear, however I believe there are cirrostratus clouds. This means that we should see some warmer weather coming our way! There also will not be any precipitation the rest of the day.

Friday, February 25, 2011

FRIDAY!

Today is much cooler than yesterday. Currently it is 13 degrees with a 7 mph WSW wind. There are patches of clouds in the sky. I believe they are altocumulus or altostratus.  There is a high pressure system coming down from Canada, which is why it is cooler today. Also, because of this system moving in we can expect to see more snow tonight and tomorrow.

Wednesday, February 23, 2011

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 23rd

Currently it is 31 degrees F. There is complete cloud cover, and a mild wind from the west. There was no precipitation today, and it was fairly warm. Tomorrow I expect about the same conditions.

Tuesday, February 22, 2011

TUESDAY: FEBRUARY 22

Currently the temperature is 21 degrees with a moderate SSE wind, which makes it feel more like 14 degrees out. The sun is shining brightly and there is minimal cloud cover. There is a chance for some flurries this evening, but nothing like what we had this weekend.

Monday, February 21, 2011

MONDAY: FEBRUARY 21, 2011

The snow continued for most of the day today. Currently it is 18 degrees out with a 12 mph ESE wind. There should be no precipitation tomorrow and temperature should reach the mid-twenties. The picture below shows that the low front has moved past us and that it's windy out (because the isobars are close together). Also, the intense snow we've had the past couple days has gone to the eastern states.

Currently in Eau Claire it is -14 degrees F. There is a calm 3 mph wind coming from the ESE. No precipitation has fallen yet, but there is a small chance for some flurries later in the day. However with this warm front coming in creating a low pressure system, we can expect snow further on this weekend. Hopefully the temperature will get up to the high 30's this weekend!

Brrrrrrr!

While the lower, eastern portion of Wisconsin students can enjoy a snow day, us here in Eau Claire can enjoy an extremely cold day....with school. Don't let the sunshine fool you, with the NNE wind it feels like -13 outside. There are clear skies, so I don't expect any sort of precipitation today or tomorrow.

Tuesday, February 1, 2011

TUESDAY: FEBRUARY 01, 2011

It is about 18 degrees out and we can expect no more snow for the next couple days. Overall the sky is mostly clear with about 25% cloud cover. I expect tomorrow to be about the same temperature and conditions.

MONDAY: JANUARY 31, 2011

Spring is definitely not in the air today! Fresh snow covers the sidewalks and there are flurries in the air. The temperature is around 19 degrees, however, with the wind chill it feels more like 4 degrees. The sky is completely covered in clouds. It looks like the snow won't stop until sometime early tomorrow, so be sure to bundle up if you go outside!
